The Aravalli mountain ranges extend from the southwest to the northeast of India. They extend from Palampur in Gujarat to Delhi. They are a group of ancient folded mountains. They were formed during the Free Cambrian geological period. The Vindhya-Satpura mountain ranges are traversed by the Narmada River. The Vindhya-Satpura mountain ranges are an example of fault/fractured mountains. The Western/Sahyadri Ghats extend across Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, and Kerala.
